Static Vs Dynamic IP Address – Types of IP Addresses

Types of IP Address – Static Vs Dynamic IP Address:

What is a Dynamic IP Address?

When you connect your device to the Internet, the Internet Service Provider (ISP) provides you an IP address from the range of available IP addresses. However, next time when you connect your device to the Internet, the ISP would provide a different IP address from the same available range.

The IP address keeps changing every time you connect your device to the Internet. Therefore, it is called Dynamic IP Address. Most of the users get a Dynamic IP Address.

What is a Static IP Address?

Static IP Address (also known as Dedicated IP) serves as a Permanent Internet Address, because it never changes. Static IP Address serves as a DNS Server. Moreover, by using Static Address, we can pinpoint the location of the device connected. Therefore, Dynamic IP Addresses are more secure. However, you might need to get a Static Address for professional purposes.
